8) Horse riding in the Garda hinterland

In the hills of the Garda hinterland, horse riding is a slow and original way to discover the area. Beginners can start with their first lessons in the saddle. More experienced riders can choose longer rides through olive groves and vineyards, some of which end with a tasting.

9) Limone's suspended cycle and pedestrian path

In Limone sul Garda you'll find one of the most spectacular cycle and pedestrian paths in Europe. For around two kilometres the path is suspended, anchored to the rock face, jutting out literally over the lake. You can walk or cycle it, with views over Monte Baldo and the water beneath you. It's suitable for families too, but we recommend avoiding the middle of the day in high season, when it gets quite busy.

10) Gardone Riviera and Il Vittoriale degli Italiani

Il Vittoriale degli Italiani was the residence where Gabriele D'Annunzio spent the final years of his life, now a sprawling museum of monumental gardens, historic rooms and all kinds of memorabilia. One of its most striking spots is the Puglia ship, set into the hillside as it slopes down towards the lake. A visit that combines history, architecture and one of the finest views on the whole Brescia shore.
