A HOLIDAY WITH YOUR DOG AT LAKE GARDA: THE PET-FRIENDLY CAMPING EUROPA SILVELLA

Pet lovers, always

When we talk about a family holiday, we mean the whole family. This has always been a core value for us: welcoming dogs just like any other guest, so your animals aren't simply "allowed", they are truly welcome. We are a dog-friendly camping, a pet-lover one in fact, and our mascot Arturo, a French bulldog, can vouch for that. Who better than him to understand what other dogs need? In this article, we'll walk you through everything we've put in place for you and your four-legged friends, along with a few ideas for exploring Lake Garda together.

Dog-friendly services at Camping Europa Silvella

Let's start at the beginning: what does it actually mean to bring your dog to Camping Europa Silvella?

Check-in and welcome kit

From the moment you arrive at check-in, your dog is a full guest. A little surprise will be waiting for them, along with a map of the campsite's dog-friendly facilities so you can find your way around comfortably from day one. Thanks to our partnership with Holipet, you'll also receive a free welcome kit with practical holiday accessories including a portable bowl, gadgets, and waste bags.

Dog park

Inside the campsite, we have a fenced 250 m² off-leash area dedicated to dogs: a space where your pet can move freely, play, and socialise with the other four-legged guests. It is available throughout the day. Dogs are also welcome to walk on a lead with you across the campsite's seven hectares.

Bau Beach

Access to our beach is always permitted, as long as your dog is on a lead. And if your dog loves the water, from 7 pm to 7 am they can swim directly in the lake. Just 600 metres from the campsite you'll also find Fido Beach, a dedicated dog-friendly beach open for swimming every day, 24 hours a day.

Free dog wash stations

One of our proudest features is our two free dog wash stations. You'll find a classic station with a shower head, bring your own shampoo and towel, and a new automatic machine introduced this year that dispenses water, shampoo, conditioner, and warm air for drying. Both are available around the clock for all our guests.

Snacks and desserts for dogs

At the restaurant and the pool bar, you'll find snacks and desserts specially created for dogs, in collaboration with LOVBAU, a brand specialising in quality pet nutrition, chosen for the quality of its ingredients. Because our four-legged friends deserve something delicious on holiday too.

Where to stay: many dog-friendly options

Whether you prefer a pitch for a tent or motorhome, or one of our village or glamping accommodations, we have several options that comfortably welcome dogs. You can choose from Coco Sweet, Coco Blu, Standard Plus, Lakeside, Superior Garden, and the new apartments with jacuzzi. For accommodation units, the supplement is €10 per day per dog, with a mandatory end-of-stay cleaning fee of €50. For pitches, the cost varies by season and is calculated automatically during online booking.

Pet policy

We welcome dogs of all breeds, including those considered potentially dangerous, as long as a few simple rules are observed — rules designed for the wellbeing of all guests. The main ones:

  • Dogs must be kept on a lead in all communal areas of the campsite;
  • Each guest may bring a maximum of two dogs;
  • Dogs are not permitted in or around the swimming pool areas;
  • Owners are responsible for their pet's behaviour.

Holipet and the Holimap: a pet-friendly map of Lake Garda

Beyond our on-site services, we wanted to offer you a practical tool for getting around the area. We are partners with Holipet, a project born right here on Lake Garda to make travelling with pets a truly complete experience. One of their most useful resources is the Holimap: a digital map of Lake Garda featuring vets, pet shops, groomers, dog sitters, trainers, and green spaces, all geolocated and accessible in seconds.

Things to do with your dog at Lake Garda: ideas for exploring together

If you're looking for adventure beyond the campsite, Lake Garda has plenty to offer for you and your dog.

Beaches

Several beaches around the lake welcome dogs, including Moniga del Garda, Salò, and Malcesine. For Manerba del Garda and Peschiera del Garda, booking in advance is recommended.

Parks and nature

The Cascate di Molina Park (Fumane, VR) offers over 80,000 m² to explore across three trails of varying difficulty, and leashed dogs are warmly welcome. The Rocca and Sasso Nature Reserve in Manerba can be reached via trail CAI 4 and rewards you with a breathtaking view 100 metres above lake level. Heller Garden in Gardone Riviera, home to over 3,000 plants from around the world, is perfect for an extraordinary sensory walk.

On the lake by boat

Many operators allow dogs on board. The Navigarda ferry lines connect Desenzano to Riva del Garda with reduced fares for medium and large dogs. For more private excursions, Gargnano Boat Rental and Garda Rent Boat are two excellent options, both accessible with small dogs.

Practical tips for travelling with your dog

To help everyone enjoy a worry-free holiday, here are a few useful suggestions:

  • Always keep your dog on a lead, and have a muzzle to hand for indoor spaces;
  • Always check whether outside activities and venues accept animals: rules can vary at beaches, cafés, restaurants, and museums;
  • Always carry fresh water with you, especially in the warmer months;
  • Use biodegradable bags to keep the environment clean;
  • Be considerate of those around you, even if your dog is small.

A final note

There is so much to do at Lake Garda with a dog, inside and outside the campsite. We hope this has given you some useful food for thought. If you have questions about what to bring, how to plan your stay, or simply want to know whether your dog is suited to a specific accommodation, write to us: we love solving problems before they even arise.

See you soon at Lake Garda! From your #campingwithlove
